Completion Bonus
With proper strategy, most games of Baker's Dozen can be won. Therefore the completion bonus is slightly different to other games and is based on how many
consecutive games you've won (winning streak) as well as how quickly you've completed the game.
When the game is completed, you will receive a bonus calculated in the following way:
Bonus = (End of Game Score / 10) x Current Winning Streak (Max 10)
Strategy
- Play the game in landscape orientation. It's easier to spot moves when all 13 columns are arranged side by side rather than split into two rows in portrait mode.
- Look ahead and try to free up the Aces first.
- Try to pack cards of the same suit and make sure there aren't any cards of the same suit that are of lower value beneath them otherwise it can become almost impossible to free them.
- Try to free up at least one King as they're always buried at the top of a column and it's impossible to move a Queen unless there's a free King available.
- Move cards around on the tableau trying to create short runs of cards of the same suit that can eventually be moved to the foundations one after the other while freeing up low value cards.
- Only clear out a tableau column if the final card can be moved to the foundations, otherwise you're reducing the number of columns that can be built on as empty spaces can't be filled.
- Once all the foundations contain cards up to around 7 then the game is usually easy to win so it seems fairly safe to pack cards valued 8 and higher in different suits.
